About Dr. Sonia Vishneski

DNP, PMHNP-BC, WHNP-BC

Dr. Sonia Vishneski is the founder of SoundMind & Body Health Solutions. She is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of advanced practice experience spanning women’s health and psychiatric care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University in 1996, her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Clinical Leadership from Case Western Reserve University in 2010 and completed her post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Liberty University in 2021.

Dr. Vishneski has extensive experience in women’s health, including obstetrical, gynecological, and hormonal care. Throughout her career, she has cared for women across the lifespan, addressing reproductive health, perinatal concerns, menopausal transitions, and complex hormonal influences on mood and overall well-being. Her background allows her to thoughtfully integrate the connection between hormonal balance and mental health.

In psychiatric practice, Dr. Vishneski treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and adjustment challenges. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy, incorporating evidence-based approaches tailored to each patient’s goals and strengths.

A native of Alabama, Dr. Vishneski has been active in academia since 2008, educating and mentoring future nurses and advanced practice providers. Since 2022, she has served veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs, providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to those who have served our country.

Dr. Vishneski is deeply committed to whole-person wellness. She enjoys teaching patients about lifestyle medicine, including nutrition, exercise, proper supplementation, weight management, stress reduction, and sustainable healthy habits. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, patient education, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their health journey.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Vishneski is active in her church and community, which reflects her commitment to service, compassion, and integrity in both her personal and professional life.
